Block puzzle game for mobile
Geeker Puzzle is a free puzzle game developed by Metis Apps for mobile devices. It is a block puzzler inspired by the popular Super Slide board game console made by the company GiiKER. It aims to offer the same fun and engaging experience that anyone can enjoy on the go.
Compared to other block puzzles where players had to completely fill in blank spaces with random pieces, like Block! Hexa Puzzle, Geeker Puzzle has them solve a sliding problem. They have to move blocks around to get a single large block to the bottom of the board
Virtual Super Slider
The Super Slider by the company Giiker is a popular handheld puzzle console in the market. Being marketed as an ‘edutainment’ device, it encourages kids to think and interact to solve puzzle challenges. They will place magnetic blocks on the board to achieve the same pattern being shown. Then, they will need to have to move a large red block to the bottom center to win.
Here comes Geeker Puzzle, a game looking to replicate the same experience but in virtual form. The gameplay is basically the same as its console counterparts. You still have multi-colored blocks you need to duplicate the layout pattern first. Then, tap the red plus button to start playing. Something different from the original, you only have 99 moves available to solve the puzzle, or it’s game over.
Another feature that Geeker Puzzle added to the gameplay is the existence of a undo button to let you reverse your previous and recover a move count back. The game’s extras are nice to have and add to the overall experience. However, the initial setup process of placing blocks on the board at the beginning is rather superfluous and feels unnecessary.
Same experience, different medium
If you’ve been curious about the Giiker Super Slide, the Geeker Puzzle mobile game does a pretty good job of replicating the experience. It retains much of the core gameplay while adding extra features of its own. Consider it a nice preview if you plan to purchase the actual game console or are on the fence if it’s right for you and your kid.
