Large-scale medieval strategy game for PC
Diplomacy is Not an Option is a premium strategy game for PC by developer Door 407. This title mixes city-building mechanics with tower defense gameplay to offer an experience that is strategic and varied. Players take on the role of a Lord who is on the brink of war.
Like with Manor Lords, Diplomacy is Not an Option lets players engage in large-scale battles, which the game boasts can support up to 10,000 soldier units at a given time. Its planned release date is coming real soon on Feb. 9, 2022, with a demo version available in the meantime.
Diplomacy is off the table
In Diplomacy is Not an Option, you play as a Feudal Lord who has seen his fair share of bloodshed on the battlefield. However, in his ceaseless pursuit of conquest, he left his kingdom neglected and in a state of disarray. Unable to bear with their situation any longer, the people have decided to take arms and storm the castle. Thus, begins an uphill battle for the future of your home.
There’s a lot to juggle in this game. You will need to fortify your castle to defend against the oncoming siege. Placement will be key in determining the effectiveness of your soldiers and towers. They’re influenced by external factors, such as visibility, range, and the terrain itself. You also need to balance your kingdom’s economy and ensure there are enough rations to go around.
As if things weren’t bad enough, you also need to contend with schemers and plotters from within your court, as well as the dangerous allure of occult magic‘s double-edged sword. There are only a couple of days left before its release, but do note that it’s still in Early Access. Try the demo out to get a feel for it and determine if you like what you see.
Against all odds
If you’re a fan of strategy games and are looking for something that will provide a nice challenge, Diplomacy is Not an Option is a solid option (pun intended) worth considering. It’s a mix of city-builder and tower defense gameplay, with the odds stacked up against you. Test your mettle and see what kind of ruler you end up becoming. Highly recommended.
