Xiaomi’s official browser
Mi Browser is a mobile web browser application that comes pre-installed on all Xiaomi devices. This ad-free browser tool is compatible with other phone and tablet brands as well which allows you to break device limitation barriers.
Google Chrome is probably the most leading browser app in the industry, but Mi is silently competing with its own set of unique features that can hardly be found on the former. It is a good alternative that is available to be downloaded and used free of charge.
Is MI browser better than Chrome?
As mentioned, the Chrome browser app by Google is leading the mobile browser nowadays. When launched, it provides a simple start page wherein you will see a search bar, a few customizable shortcuts, and suggested articles. Mi Browser, on the other hand, houses many things—a search bar, uneditable website shortcuts, and one or two suggested links that take you to an entirely new section as you scroll down.
There, you’ll see various news from a wide range of topics such as cricket, politics, health, etc. that are trending in real-time. If you’re not fond of this rich, but cluttered starting page, you can opt to customize your feed. What’s great with Mi is it also serves layout options for its tab switcher. Here, you can switch between vertical and horizontal views. For Chrome, only vertical layout is available.
However, Chrome supports more features as compared to Mi which allows you to swipe right or left solely. Mi Browser gives additional scroll modes including quick scroll and scroll with volume buttons while Google Chrome provides a basic scrolling option only. Furthermore, the dark mode feature looks more natural and customizable in Mi than Chrome.
Competent mobile web browser
Mi Browser is an excellent option for more widely popular browser apps like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Despite it being relatively new as compared to other established web browser tools, it is capable to compete with them using its standard and unique browsing features. For the record, some of the functions it offers even performed better than the more prominent browsers.
