Y tế HCM: A Health and Fitness App for COVID-19 Testing Results and Vaccination Information

Y tế HCM is a lifestyle app developed by the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City for residents to declare their health information, replacing the paper-based declaration at healthcare facilities in the city. The app has been upgraded to include several features such as COVID-19 test result tracking via QRCode, linking vaccination information and COVID Green Card, and scanning QRCode at destinations to declare health information and mark the visited locations. The app requires access to the camera and device memory to read QRCode and capture screenshots. Users can refuse to grant access to these features, in which case, the QRCode scanning and screenshot capture functionalities will be disabled.

Y tế HCM has a centralized data integration system at the city’s data center, ensuring the security and confidentiality of all information and data collected, which serves only for the city’s Anti-Epidemic Steering Committee to implement epidemic prevention measures. The app does not collect any personal information for advertising purposes. Users can also change or revoke access rights granted to the app at any time in the device settings.
