Play quick-session wrestling matches
WWE Undefeated is a free-to-play action game from nWay Inc. This official WWE combines wrestling and deckbuilding elements to give players a refreshing experience. In homage to old-school arcade fighting games, this one adapts a real-time quick-session format that manages to keep every match-up fast-paced and thrilling.
With a growing roster of wrestling superstars for you to unlock, plus massive card move combinations, WWE Undefeated is a definite treat for wrestling fans everywhere. Throw in visual styles similar to Marvel: Future Fight or MARVEL Future Revolution, and you have an exciting game whose flaws are virtually unnoticeable.
Combine action and strategy, WWE-style
WWE Undefeated adapts stylized character designs that manage to make every wrestling superstar distinct. While it only has over a dozen characters—from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Roman Reigns, and more—the devs assure the community that more WWE superstars are coming soon. These character designs are accompanied by over-the-top wrestling animations for added intensity, making it fun to watch.
Gameplay-wise, you are tasked with collecting and upgrading wrestling move cards such as suplexes, body slams, and submission techniques. As a globally playable online game, it has a multiplayer feature as well. You can fight one-on-one matches with other players, with its quick matchmaking time. Conversely, you can also join wrestling stables, the equivalent of guilds in this game, to share your roster and cards.
Of course, there are game mechanics that won’t sit well with certain types of players. One, getting move cards are mostly randomized, adding a gacha element to the game. Also, the multiplayer game doesn’t sort players based on skill level, leaving you helpless should you be matched with an experienced player. Lastly, its servers are not as healthy as they once were, making the game inaccessible at times.
A dying WWE game
As promising as WWE Undefeated is, it’s heading in a bad direction. The slightly unrealistic character designs work well with the deckbuilding system of wrestling moves. It builds an online community, with or against other players from all around the world. Lastly, it lets you enjoy and customize how wrestlers perform based on your own strategy. However, its servers are experiencing more downtime, making it difficult to play consistently.
