A new era begins in the lands of Azeroth
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is the third expansion set for World of Warcraft, the popular MMORPG developed by Blizzard.
Set mainly in the two continents of Azeroth, the story in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm begins with the return of the evil Dragon Aspect Deathwing the Destroyer from Deepholm. The arrival of this scary creature will cause a catastrophic world event – known as The Shattering – which will change the lands of Azeroth forever.
Besides adding a new plot line to the game’s history, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm brings lots of new features to the game: two new playable races (Worgen for the Alliance and Goblins for the Horde), five new zones (Hyjal, Vashj’ir, Uldum, Deepholm, and Twilight Highlands) and several new dungeons, among others. Also, top character level has been raised to 85 and top profession level to 525.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm makes this popular MMORPG more open to casual players, thanks to the addition of hundreds of quests and a larger number of possible combinations between races and professions. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is essentially easier to manage and therefore more enjoyable. Hardcore players, meanwhile, will have to be content with having more difficult challenges when completing levels and dungeons – and of course, obtaining more valuable rewards for it.
Regarding graphics, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm sticks to the original style but adapts it to the new graphic cards available on the market. There’s much more detail in landscapes and characters, which means higher system requirements. It’s a small price to pay for what has become the most popular online game in the world.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm brings new adventures, new characters and new lands to explore to the world of Azeroth.
