Premium subway simulator experience
If you’re looking for an immersive subway experience, then World of Subways Vol.3: Circle Line is the game for you. This simulation game from TML Studios captures both the life and the vibes that come with running and driving through a train line. In this installment, you get to see an accurate reconstruction of the Circle Underground Line that runs around London.
World of Subways Vol.3: Circle Line boasts impressively realistic graphics and audio, with announcements made by the original subway speaker. You can also check out Train Simulator and Passenger Train Simulator, if you’re looking for alternatives.
Drive around London Underground
World of Subways Vol.3: Circle Line is the third entry in the four-volume World of Subways series, each recreating a real-world subway line. This one focuses on the London Circle Line, which covers both the counterclockwise Inner Rail and the return trip Outer Rail. Also, while most of the game is in first-person view, you can also view other people and the subway from a third-person perspective.
In terms of soundtrack, most of the sounds you hear in his game are based on the real ones played on the Circle Line. More importantly, the announcements are exclusively recorded by the original guy who did it. For the graphics, here is where you feel the authenticity of the experience. Even the dynamics of light, and the details along the track, are all on point.
Still, being a dated game with no updates thus far, it has been left suffering from a lot of bugs. For example, there are instances where you get stuck on invisible obstacles while in first-person, resolvable by switching to third-person and back again. Similarly, players report instances where the game crashes randomly, causing players to lose any saved progress they might have.
A good sim in need of updates
In terms of content and premise, World of Subways Vol.3: Circle Line is a good entry. By making use of the technology available at the time, it manages to create an accurate video game representation of the London railway. Its visuals and audio are both good. Unfortunately, the game is set back by a number of serious bugs that can certainly derail any gameplay experience.
