Witches Legacy: The Dark Throne is a point-and-click hidden object game by Seattle-based Big Fish Games. In it, a celebration is interrupted as the kind witch, Lynn, presiding over it is possessed by an evil force. You take the role her husband, a former witch hunter, and must pursue her… to save her.

A Different Kind of Witch Hunt

The player’s internal dialogue in this game is particularly interesting, as the role they’re placed in gives them a unique tie to the story. Your job is to confront the evil that has possessed your wife, but you also want to save her. The game does a decent job holding this tone without being too serious, and it does ultimately focus on puzzles and object-finding in the end.

Confronting Evil The Simple Way

If you like hidden object games, this one is definitely worth picking up, though you may not find it that challenging. It and other Witches Legacy games tend to be decent introductory hidden object games, too, although they’re not guaranteed to click with everything. In a way, hidden object games are like casino games: pick one with a theme that really appeals to you. Fortunately, world-hopping magical adventures have a pretty broad appeal.
