You can now use WiFi Sync on any Windows device to download your photos and videos from your Canon camera, as well as share them instantly via Bluetooth to your PC or Mac. We heard your requests for direct connectivity to your camera from your computer or other Android devices, and with this release, WiFi Sync is now also compatible with Windows 8 devices. Once connected, you can use WiFi Sync to remotely transfer photos and videos directly to your device as soon as they are taken on your camera, automatically organize your photos and videos, and share your memories with your friends and family with the push of a button. To start a transfer, simply open the camera viewfinder and then connect to WiFi Sync from your computer using its icon. You can even start a transfer before downloading them to your computer if you are about to leave on a trip. This release also allows for the use of your camera’s NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, which you may already know, for the transmission of pictures, documents and other files from your camera to your computer. NFC technology allows for the efficient transfer of digital data in less time than Bluetooth by sharing a wireless connection, through close proximity of compatible devices and through radio waves. With WiFi Sync, your camera’s WiFi is already connected so you can wirelessly share photos and videos with other WiFi-enabled devices to your Canon camera directly. And you can use your Bluetooth-enabled iOS and Android device as a wireless extension to your computer for file transfer or storage.
