A tactical fighting game with strong RPG elements
The stars around the Dwarven planet are dying, so it is up to three astronauts to seek out a new star and find a home for their race before it is too late. You take control of three warriors known as Forcer, Shadow and Smashfist. Each character in We Are The Dwarves has his own abilities that will enable you to smash your way through your enemies while you search out a new place to live.
A tactical pause button for a different type of RPG combat
We are all used to turn-based combat in role-playing games such as these, so to mix things up, the developers have added a tactical pause button. Pause the game and give your fighters instructions. You many even queue up actions and you may slow time down so that you may give commands to counter what your enemies are doing. The game textures in We Are The Dwarves are rich, but one little nitpick is that the developer’s use of light is a little too artistic. Most of the locations have very dull lighting with only a few well-lit areas with a backdrop of gloom.
A tactical fighting game
The biggest selling point for We Are The Dwarves is the combat. It is dull and frustrating at first, but it becomes more interesting as it becomes more complicated. The story is nothing you haven’t heard before, and the graphics are good but gloomy. What makes this game a winner is its tactical combat mechanic and the fact you can pause the game and queue up actions. Fans of turn-based combat will take to this type of combat very easily.
