Free app to watch sports

WatchESPN is a free application that has been rebranded to the ESPN app. You can watch sports matches live by verifying your cable TV provider or video streaming account. The ESPN app lets you customize your experience with sports on your regularly updated newsfeed, variety of scoreboards, and library of ESPN films and events.

The CBS Sports and NBC Sports applications are alternatives to the ESPN service that show popular sports events that air on TV. All apps give you up-to-date highlights on sporting news events that include player and team updates.

Can I watch live games on ESPN app?

Live sports, shows, and on-demand content are available to watch on the ESPN app after you link your cable or streaming account. You can customize the set up process by selecting an unlimited amount of leagues and sports to appear on the home screen.

The ESPN app has a multitude of sports to watch at the comfort of your Windows PC. Possible sporting leagues to choose from include NBA, NCAAF, NCAAM, NCAAW, NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, MMA, etc. The golf and tennis categories are conveniently organized into men and women sections. Additionally, the Olympic Sports, World Cup series, along with other sports events like Formula 1, NASCAR are available too.

What are the features of ESPN app?

To get started, you are prompted to choose your favorite teams to follow. The teams are categorized by leagues in the tabbed panel on the left. You will be brought to the main user interface once you pick your favorites. The UI is made of the ‘Home’, ‘Score’, ‘Watch’, ‘ESPN+’, and ‘More’ tabs.

The home screen includes a newsfeed that gives you news about the latest sports media. The newsfeed contains recent information about ESPN player and team news in the form of text and video content. You can swipe through profiles of players to follow, and the further you scroll down, the page has information that’s organized by leagues and sports.

The networks are listed beneath the videos in the ‘Watch’ area. You can tell when a video is live when a ‘LIVE’ label is on the preview. A calendar icon in the upper-right corner lets you launch the schedule to enter the sport, network, and date for either live, upcoming, or replay airings.

Is the WatchESPN app free?

The ESPN program is free and safe to use, similar to the former platform WatchESPN. This sports app lets you watch games and original programs that are not available in the regular ESPN app.

ESPN+ is an add-on feature that lets you tune into exclusive content, and focuses on niche sports more than the official app. UFC, soccer, college basketball, and college football are highlighted sports in the premium platform. ESPN+ includes a 7-day free trial that you can try before you buy the annual or monthly subscription plan.

A caveat to the freemium model is that you will need to have either a TV provider or video streaming service that lets you access the channels. Xfinity and Spectrum are examples of TV services that work with the ESPN application. Hulu and Sling are streaming applications that you can use with the ESPN software.

ESPN3 network access is available with certain Internet Service Providers. While you can stream ESPN from your computer on the official website, the app is only available for mobile devices, smart TVs, tablets, and video game consoles.

Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, and newer models of Roku lets you use the ESPN app as well. PlayStation4 and Xbox One are gaming consoles that are compatible with ESPN. Also, handheld devices that you can use the ESPN app with include Android, iOS, and iPad.

The names of the teams or players will be shown on the scoreboard, and the league or sporting event will be labeled above the board. You can easily see which country the sports teams are from the country flags, and the app alerts you with event notifications to get updates on the matches.
