Virtual Pucks
Take to the ice in self-proclaimed most realistic virtual reality hockey simulator. Take on challenges, experiment with physics, and collect awards in the VR Hockey Hall of Fame.
Going For Realism
As the many uses of “simulator” in the promo language suggest, the developers of VR Hockey League are going for realism with this virtual reality game. And they do a very good job. The graphics are very nice—the ice especially—and the puck behaves surprisingly realistically. As for the game itself, it is a solo game, putting you in a rink with a pack crowd apparently just there to watch you practice. From there, you can try your hand at a number of training exercises, such as shooting challenges, passing challenges, accuracy challenges, and more. Your performance in these exercises can land you awards in the VR Hockey League Hall of Fame, where you can fumble around with actual trophies if you so please. A great deal of attention to detail has gone into this game.
A Great Experience
VR Hockey League is a beautifully rendered, realistic simulation of hockey training, without all that cold ice. The only negative is that the controls can feel un-intuitive for some. It’s unclear whether or not playing VR Hockey League might improve your real life hockey skills, but it certainly feels like the real deal.
