A platform game with a voodoo doll protagonist
Voodoo Vince: Remastered is a remastering of the Voodoo Vince game that came out on the original Xbox. That is why the character modelling and environments look a little old fashioned, but the remastering makes the game look more textured, and you can definitely tell the difference from the old version. It is an over-the-shoulder platforming game.
A weird environment to run and jump around in
On the surface, you are running around regular locations such as a big house and courtyard, but you find yourself in rat-filled sewers, secret rooms and even on the rooftops. Much of the game involves jumping from one place to another, but you may also ride a rat and find numerous original ways of defeating your enemies. The vehicles and mini-games help to flesh out what would have otherwise been a thin and easily-defeatable game. There are thirty voodoo attacks you can use, and there are thirty levels to complete. Voodoo Vince: Remastered is very similar to the Crash Bandicoot games, but it has its own personality and charm.
Save your creator from Kosmo The Inscrutable
Voodoo Vince: Remastered has you running through sewers and an evil carnival to save your creator. The game has a smattering of humour that is nicely rounded and doesn’t try too hard. The soundtrack also adds to the fun gameplay experience. It is a shame that the developers set out so many pointless achievements within the game, but if you are not achievement hunting, then you can get the game completed within ten hours.
