Free VR accessory app
VIVE is the official application for the VIVE Focus device and is one of the utilities and tools that connect your smartphone to your HTC Vive. It will make sure that you’re not missing important notifications from your other mobile apps. Phone calls, text messages, and calendar events will appear before your eyes so it will not interrupt your play. The updates will also appear on the Vive tab on your system dashboard so you can view them later too.
What does VIVE do?
VIVE is the application for the most immersive and cable-free VR device by HTC, VIVE Focus. The headset wanted to make accessing VR easier and more convenient. This app can do just that. It allows you to respond to a missed call, read text messages, send quick replies, and view all the notifications your phone gets. HTC stays true to the promise of a hassle-free set up by offering this app.
It allows you to connect your phone via Bluetooth so you do not need to take off your headset when you receive a notification. A stable Wifi connection is also important to have to be able to receive updates. To start, select Settings then Phone Notifications on your VIVE Focus device. You can now take off the VR helmet and proceed to tap the VIVE app on your phone. You will only need to tap the VIVE Focus then Turn on Bluetooth to create a successful connection.
This mobile app is different from VIVEPORT which is limited to providing a catalog of VR experiences to users. VIVE’s only purpose is to send you notifications so you can use your VR without worrying about missing notifications or important calls. This means you will not be able to control your headset with the app. What you can do is prompt the app to proceed with writing a text or making a call.
Simple and practical VR app
The mobile app VIVE is a straightforward and useful tool to have if you have the VIVE Focus. You will no longer worry about missing urgent messages and calls while you’re using your VR. It also allows you to return the call or send messages even while the device is over your eyes; however, the usefulness ends there. The app lacks customization options and a catalog of virtual worlds.
