Vidyanjali: An Educational Initiative for Strengthening Schools in India
Vidyanjali 2.0 is an Android-based educational initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at strengthening schools through community and private sector involvement across the country. The name Vidyanjali is derived from two Sanskrit words: Vidya meaning “correct knowledge” or “clarity” and Anjali meaning “an offering with both hands”. The program has two verticals, “Participate in school Service/Activity” and “Assets/Material/Equipment”, which enable volunteers to support and strengthen government and government-aided schools.
With Vidyanjali, volunteers from the Indian Diaspora, including young professionals, school alumni, in-service and retired teachers, government officials, and professionals, can connect with schools and actively participate in school service and activities. They can also provide assets, materials, and equipment to support the schools in their community, thus promoting a collaborative and supportive environment.
Overall, Vidyanjali is a valuable initiative that promotes community involvement in education and helps strengthen the education system in India.
