Free Skyrim grass mod
Verdant is a free mod for Skyrim that improves the appearance of the grass throughout the game. The mod makes the grass thicker, more realistic, and generally beautiful. Skyrim is known to have amazing landscapes and sceneries. The original game, known as the Vanilla version, unfortunately, doesn’t come close in comparison.
Mods such as Verdant, Unique Grasses, Velanimus Grass Overhaul, Obsidian Weathers and Seasons, and Cathedral Landscapes give new textures, grass types, and more. The variance in the species, colors, and flowers is profound. These make the game feel more natural and bring out the potential in the game.
Grass patch
Verdant gives Skyrim’s landscapes an entirely different look with its grass. The Vanilla version’s grass is limited, is rendered in low resolution, and has no detail. The mod has many different kinds of grass throughout the game. You can even make out each blade of grass. The average height of the blades in each area is also increased, giving it a more realistic feel.
Diversity
The diversity of grass types is refreshing. Different areas have varying types of grass. For instance, the fall forest near Riften is filled with beautiful golden bushes, with a hint of tiny wildflowers here and there. Also, the forest grass is lush green and sprinkled with colorful flowers, and the Reach is now more bushy than grassy and has an arid, dry look, unlike the Vanilla version of Skyrim that was mostly just the forest’s grass.
These are just some of the areas that were given a makeover. Even within each area, there are patches of different types of grass, providing a natural touch. Verdant makes Skyrim look breathtaking with all these overhauls and improvements.
Well seeded
On the whole, Verdant nailed the look and beauty of Skyrim’s grass and refined the game’s landscapes. Although most of the bugs and glitches were solved, the only drawback is the falling frame rate. The scenery is beautiful, but a low frame rate can be annoying.
Although you can use other mods designed to improve FPS, an additional feature to compensate for the frame rate drop would have been ideal.
