What is Vedic astrology?

Vedic astrology is the science of the universe and the life and soul inhabiting the universe. The Vedas, which are sacred texts that detail the origins of the universe and of mankind, are the foundation of Vedic astrology. The Vedas contain many stories about the origins of the universe and of mankind, and many of these stories are repeated in various scriptures. These stories are known as the Puranas. The Puranas are a collection of ancient Indian scriptures that are a part of the Vedas.

The basic elements of Vedic astrology are the study of the positions of the planets in the sky, the calculation of the time since a particular event, and the interpretation of the meaning of the event that is predicted to occur in the future. The planets are the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon.
