Single-player sandbox city builder game
ValeGuard is a city-building SIM platform based on the concept of constructing a town over time. The user can implement various elements, such as buildings, farmland, fencing, and defensive towers. In terms of an open-ended management simulation game, ValeGuard is similar to platforms like TheoTown.
Construction and renovations will occur throughout the day. This helps prepare the city for attacks that occur during overnight hours. Heroes and powerful upgrades can be unlocked over time, and it is also possible to unlock different areas in order to gain more strength.
A straightforward city SIM
ValeGuard contains many of the same elements that are included with traditional SIM platforms. These include timed builds, defensive towers, a growing population, and the ability to acquire wealth.
The notion of resource juggling
The town can be mined for several resources. Gold can be used to purchase items, wood and iron may be forged into weaponry, and grain is intended to feed the population. Thus, the player will have to manage these items efficiently in order to ensure long-term survival as well as defend their area.
Unique win-lose gameplay
ValeGuard is somewhat unique in the fact that losses can and will occur over time. This is not always the case with other top-down city SIM games. Defeats add a sense of realism to the game, and they can also encourage players to adopt different strategies as the game progresses to more challenging levels.
More than a SIM game alone
Although there is no doubt that ValeCraft contains certain elements in common with well-known platforms such as SIM City 2000, the addition of external conflicts provides a further sense of excitement. Likewise, straightforward and progressive gameplay is suited for novices of the SIM genre.
