Persian Gulf War mod for Battlefield 2
The US Intervention Mod is a free-to-use game utility from Nothing Master and powered by moddb. This mod for Battlefield 2 lets players experience the Persian Gulf War, a military effort by the United States in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. You play as one of the soldiers sent to the titular Persian Gulf to liberate Kuwaiti territories.
There are a lot of reasons to include US Intervention Mod in your next Battlefield 2 session. If you’re after other mods for the hit first-person shooter (FPS), check out Umbrella Mod or Battlefield 2: Insurgency.
A mod that chases realism
The first thing to take note of with the US Intervention Mod is that it features custom character and weapon skins, maps, vehicles, and even a new game mode to accurately capture the 1991 war. There’s a new game mode on top of 83 weapons and 33 different ammo types. You also get the chance to drive 76 custom vehicles that further capture the feel of the unique period.
In terms of gameplay, it retains most of the rules and mechanics from the base version of the game. However, despite the addition of a large volume of original content, the developers maintain a balance between all sides involved. This gives all players equal opportunity to achieve their respective victory conditions. You can also expect realistic scenarios playing out, depending on the decisions of the players.
Players who give additional attention to detail won’t be disappointed with this mod, either. Custom textures and skins are consistent and don’t suffer from glitches and bugs. The only problem is for inexperienced mod users since the game requires a certain level of knowledge to get started. However, after this minor hurdle for new users, everything should work just as fine.
Experience the Gulf War
Although the Gulf War is not as large in scale or as protracted as other man-made wars, the US Intervention Mod makes excellent work of letting Battlefield fans experience this part of history. It has a lot of content–skins, weapons, stages, and even an entire game mode–all geared toward realism and accuracy. Aside from a minor challenge for new mod users, this game works just fine. Highly recommended.
