Jump up a level in a URL hierarchy
Up is a simple Chrome extension with a very specific purpose – to let you move up a level in a website’s hierarchy.
Why might you want to do this? Well, imagine if you click on a link to a picture from a friend. If you want to see the website that the image came from, pressing the back button won’t help you – you need to go up, not back. Without Up installed, you would have to manually edit the URL. Instead, Up does this for you.
Using Up is very simple. Once installed, you will see it to the right of the address bar – a simple up arrow. Clicking it will show you the different hierarchical levels you can choose to visit – just click on the right one and Chrome will go there automatically.
Up is very simple, but a great idea and an excellent way of going “up” rather than “back” when you are browsing the web.
