A unique running game

Typing Shooter is a one-of-a-kind running game that developer Original Labs offers for free. In this game, you have a broken keyboard that’s missing some keys. You have to retrieve these lost parts as the keyboard runs across a platform. On top of collecting the missing pieces, you also have to dodge obstacles and shoot items along the way.

It’s similar to other running games like Join Clash 3D and Sandwich Runner. The difference is that Typing Shooter’s objective is to collect keys while Join Clash 3D requires you to assemble friends and Sandwich Runner lets you stack food items.

Easy controls and fun elements

The control for Typing Shooter is easy; you only have to move the keyboard from left to right by swiping across the screen. There’s no need to click on other buttons and you only need to use one hand to play. However, you do need to press and hold as you swipe to maintain your control over the keyboard as it moves.

Another fun layer to this game is the elements that you will come across while playing. You’ll encounter message balloons that you have to shoot in order to pop them and retrieve a prize, obstacles that you have to dodge, and screens that will increase your keyboard’s range and typing speed. Moreover, you’ll come across blocks that you can shoot to get extra winnings.

However, it can be confusing to learn all of these elements and what they mean when you start playing the game. That’s because it does not provide a tutorial or explainer at the beginning that could otherwise help you better understand the gameplay. Some elements also appear in new levels suddenly, which can catch you off guard and leave you confused when you first encounter them.

Confusing but still fun to play

It takes a while to familiarize yourself with the elements of the game but once you understand them, it becomes enjoyable to play. Its straightforward controls even allow you to focus on learning the game’s features and components instead of distracting you. Additionally, its rewards system will give you the motivation to continue playing and make each of its levels worthwhile.
