Discover Ancient Greece with ToposText

ToposText is a free mobile application that offers a new way of experiencing Europe’s most ancient literary culture and the Greek landscape that inspired it. Developed by Pavla S.A. in collaboration with Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, this education and reference tool is a must-have for history enthusiasts, students, and travelers.

The app presents over 5000 places relevant to the ancient Greek world, including ancient cities, shrines, medieval castles, modern museums, and excavation sites, primarily in Greece but also including major places from Spain to the Caucasus. Each site is indexed to the ancient literary sources that mention it, allowing readers to explore the connections between the texts and the places.

ToposText also features a large classical library of texts in English, all stored on-device, making it easily accessible even without an internet connection. The accurate coordinates for thousands of Greek historical sites, as well as recent archaeological information on many sites, are also available through the app’s location-aware display of site information.
