Next installment in The Game of Life game series
The Game of Life 2 is a premium card game for PC by developer Marmalade Game Studio Ltd. It’s the next installment in The Game of Life series and inspired by the classic board game of the same name. It aims to improve upon the award-winning experience of its predecessor.
The Game of Life 2 brings the same charming and beautifully rendered world that captures the essence of the original board game. This sequel doesn’t make any drastic changes and instead aims to build upon the already solid foundation of its predecessor.
Be whoever you want
The Game of Life came out in the 1960s and became one of the most popular board games ever. It simulated a person’s life and had you experience important stages, from adulthood to retirement. A video game adaptation was made for it that received critical acclaim and offered an award-winning experience. Here then comes its sequel, The Game of Life 2, looking to do the same as its predecessor.
This sequel has you create a character first and how many players you want to participate as usual. From there, it’s off the iconic spinner you go. Depending on how many moves you make and which tile you land on, you’ll have to make important decisions that will dictate your path in life. You’ll reach various milestones throughout your journey—good and bad.
Once you reach the end of the board, you can retire and spend the rest of your turns on the spinner, hoping to end up on something interesting. Now, as is the case with the original and physical board game, you will need to have enough players participate to really enjoy the experience. You can opt to add bots, but it really won’t feel the same.
A great, albeit similar experience
The Game of Life 2 doesn’t bring much that’s new. If you’ve played the first game, the experience here will be quite similar, outside of some slight visual improvements and tweaks. If you already own the original, there’s no reason to get this one. Either way, you’ll have a great time with both games, just make sure you invite friends to play.
