An action game featuring mystical birds
The Falconeer is a premium action game created by Tomas Sala for PC. It is a third-person flying adventure that has players control a majestic bird of war. They will engage in exhilarating aerial dogfights as a member of a proud member of a legendary group of sky warriors.
Just like Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, The Falconeer focuses on high-flying combat action, but with a more fantasy-like approach similar to Superflight. This combination of new and classic concepts results in an engaging and immersive experience that fans of both flight sims and RPGs will enjoy.
Sky warfare
In the game, you will take on the role of The Falconeer, a proud sky warrior of the Ursee people traversing a fantasy oceanic world torn by war and greed. Together with your majestic warbird, you will experience trials and tribulations as you take part in a war that is raging in both the sky and the sea and the many encounters in between.
In this game, you will be engaging in various battle situations across multiple missions and side quests. You’ll face a slew of enemies comprising both humans and mythical creatures. With each victory, earn splinters that you can use to upgrade your mount and gear, such as the lightning canister that strikes your foes down with precision and devastating damage, which is especially helpful when facing tough bosses.
What’s more, the game offers you multiple campaigns to experience and witness the different perspectives of other factions involved in the war—today’s ally can be tomorrow’s foe. With all of that being said, the actual gameplay fails to live up to lofty aspirations. The controls are janky, for the lack of a better word. Combat is also surprisingly sparse, and you take on dull side quests more than anything else.
Soar through the sky with your warbird
If you like flight sim games and are looking for something a little different to try out, The Falconeer is an interesting title to consider. Its fantasy theme and the feeling of riding a mythical warbird into battle is quite an exhilarating experience. The controls are a little off and the combat is lackluster, and hopefully, these could be addressed in a future update soon.
