TAVIHAR – A Mobile Widget App for Weather Updates on Hungary’s Lakes

The TAVIHAR app is a free, mobile widget application designed to provide faster and more efficient information to anyone working, playing, or living near Hungary’s navigable lakes. It is optimized for Android-based smart phones and tablets and requires a continuous Internet connection to update its display data.

Developed by the National Association for Radio Emergency and Infocommunications, TAVIHAR informs about the dangers of hurricane lakes in Hungary and can be continuously monitored on their website. RevisedXII. 27) mandates that from April 1 to October 30, a storm warning and storm warning service must operate on Lake Balaton, Lake Velence, Lake Tisza, and Lake Fertő.

The Ministry of the Interior, National Directorate General for Disaster Management (BM OKF) and the National Association of Radio Emergency and Infocommunications (RSOE) supervise and operate the system, which also informs about the current storm situation of the lakes through the websites of the Directorate-General and the county administrations concerned.
