Tannenberg – A Modern War Game

Tannenberg is a new, modern war game that lets you feel as if you are right there on the battlefield. It is based on the events of the Tannenberg Offensive of 1914.

The war of 1914 was fought on the Eastern Front. The first stage of World War I began in August 1914 when Germany and Austria-Hungary declared war on Russia. By November, Germany and its allies had invaded and taken territory in Poland, and in January 1915, Russia declared war on Germany. By early 1915, the war was taking place on four major fronts – France, Germany, Russia, and Italy. It was here that the battles in WW1 first began, with Germany trying to capture Paris and its surrounding areas.

By early 1915, the Russian-German front had been neutralized. German troops were in Paris, and the front was not moving. However, in early 1915, the Tannenberg Offensive began. The offensive was directed at Austrian troops who had taken the area around the town of Tannenberg in Ukraine. This led to the encirclement of hundreds of thousands of soldiers, which turned into the Tannenberg Offensive.

Tannenberg is the most authentic war game based on the Battle of Tannenberg, which took place in the area between the Dnieper and Bug rivers in the East Ukrainian area of the Russian Empire in 1914. This battle, in which a large number of Russian soldiers and officers died, turned into the Battle of Tannenberg Offensive. The game is based on this offensive.
