A free survival game where you micro-manage the lives of your characters
Play Survivors: the Quest for free and explore an island where you and a small collective must survive and escape. Grow your own food, fend off starvation, and take an active role in the lives of all your characters. Playing the game and surviving is easy, but getting off the island and completing the game is tricky and time consuming.
Survive on the island and try to find your way off it
The game looks great on a Smartphone or small PC screen, but begins to lose its luster on larger screens. The two-dimensional characters that appear to the left and right are fine as part of the story narrative, but are a little unimaginative. The developers of Survivors: the Quest could have easily stuck to subtitles from the on-screen 3D characters and it would have been just as good. The game play is not that dissimilar to the Sims, where you have to create food, eat, shower, and so forth. The questing side is similar to Fallout 1, 2 and Fallout Tactics, except there is less need for combat. The way the characters move and the way they interact with the environment is similar to the early Fallout games.
Similar to the Sims games with a dash of puzzle solving
Getting off the island requires pushing the story forwards by completing puzzles. This adds an extra dimension to the game that the Sims game lacked. The amount of maintenance your characters need is far less intense within Survivors: the Quest than it is within any of the Sims games. The daily routine and daily grind is not as taxing or full-on as it is with the Sims, and many players will enjoy that fact.
