Watch live sports and television on your Android phone
SopCast is one of the most popular programs for watching sports and television on a computer. The Android version of SopCast lets you watch live TV on your Android – with acceptable picture quality.
SopCast for Android comes with no TV listings pages, so for match times and program schedules you’ll need to consult forums and specialist P2P web listings sites, such as AllP2P or P2PTV Sports.
What you do get in this mobile version of SopCast is a long list of all the available channels, of which there are many. Channels are loosely grouped into categories, although you’ll still find yourself doing a lot of scrolling since the categorization isn’t well implemented. There is an option to sort by group, ID, name, bit rate or signal strength, though again this doesn’t really seem to work well.
Alternatively, if you have the URL of a particular stream, you can enter this and open it directly within SopCast for Android.
The quality of the streams and buffer times vary depending on the channel you’re trying to access. It’s possible to find some good quality streams on SopCast and it’s worth persevering to try and track them down. There’s also an option to play video stored locally on your Android device.
There aren’t many US channels to choose from but SopCast still offers a good way to watch live sports on your mobile.
