Learn easily with this free app

Socratic by Google is an educational application developed by Google LLC. It’s free to download and use and aims to amplify the students’ learning by providing easy research. Here, you can search for the answers that your teacher gave you with ease.

Socratic by Google works like a web browser in a way that it searches the web for resources, explanations, and answers to your question. Although, in addition to typing in your queries, you can also do a voice search or snap a picture of it. However, like your typical Google search, not all sources it provides are reliable.

How does Socratic by Google help users?

With Socratic, you can answer your homework without poring over various notes and books. As noted, this app helps you in searching for the answer to all your questions. It features an AI technology that searches the web for you. All you have to do is type in or speak your queries. Moreover, you can use the camera feature to take a picture of your handwritten or typed question.

Similar to web browsers, such as Google Chrome or Opera Mini, the app provides the sources in one or more pages. Additionally, the search results contain videos from YouTube and even information from Wikipedia pages. With this, not only can you get the answer, but you can also visit websites that explain your answer further. Moreover, as it uses the web, the app covers any subject you have in school.

However, before you ditch your notes and switch to this app, you should note that not all resources that it provides are reliable. There is also a good chance that the answer is incorrect. The camera function also sometimes fails to capture your questions correctly. Finally, some may argue that relying on the app to complete your schoolwork is essentially cheating.

Should you download it?

With Socratic by Google, doing your homework will be a lot easier. The app makes researching easy as it yields results to your queries in a few seconds. Not only that, but it directs you to pages with relevant answers. However, this should not completely replace your notes and the lessons you received from your teacher. Like a regular browser, it can still provide incorrect answers.
