Create desktop widgets with the contents of any website
You may have considered creating your own widget for Windows, but I’m sure you never thought it would be as easy as creating them with Snippage.
Snippage is a simple AIR-based app that lets you create custom widgets for your desktop just by selecting a given area on any website. You can then use it to follow the latest headlines on your favorite news site or search any webpage right from the desktop.
Using Snippage couldn’t be easier. Launch the program and enter the URL of the website you want to create the widget for in the appropriate field. Then select the area you want to use as widget, and voilà! The selected area will immediately be saved as a desktop widget. The whole procedure is easy, though sometimes it feels a bit clunky – and you need a good, steady hand to select the area properly.
Snippage works with any website and lets you choose between automatically refreshing the widget or using a static copy, and also between opening links in your web browser or inside the widget itself.
Snippage lets you create desktop widgets from any website, including RSS feeds, search engines or anything else you can think of.
