A virtual reality puzzle adventure game
Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok is a virtual reality game set in the fantasy world of Kal Torlin. The player must make their way through the titular mines, fight monsters, solve puzzles, and generally explore the game world in a detailed virtual environment.
Though not as much of an open world as Skyrim, the theme and VR nature of this game draw obvious comparisons to games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR. However, the gameplay itself is more puzzle-based, like Tomb Raider: Legend.
Explore ancient dungeons
Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok allows the player to step into a virtual reality world of dark mines and ancient dungeons. There is quite a large game world to explore for a VR game, and the confined nature of the world design means that the player will always be surrounded by rich detail.
Combat and puzzle-solving
The player will encounter many enemies along their quest and will be able to use elemental magic to fight them, disarm dungeon defenses, and more. There is also a range of puzzles to solve in the typical VR escape room style, though these are not especially difficult.
An interesting VR fantasy game
Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok is part of a wider Shadowgate franchise, though the player does not need to have played previous games to understand or enjoy this one. It has some issues, such as players complaining that the puzzles can be too easy, but overall has received positive feedback from players.
