Fight Mental on the Siberian wastelands
Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem is a premium first-person shooter from Croteam, the famed developer behind the Serious Sam franchise. In this action experience, you join the titular mercenary as he fights off against extraterrestrial invaders, this time in the cold and barren wastelands of Siberia. Not only do you face his archenemy Mental, but also have to go after the human traitor General Brand.

New battles, same old Sam
Right off the bat, fans of the franchise will find familiar elements in Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. Its unapologetic, over-the-top action antics feel like the standard Hollywood film every now and then. However, the game manages to maintain the Serious Sam signature while keeping it fresh. This installment features new weapons and new enemies for you to fight against, promising some of the most complicated monsters to date.
Also over the years, the franchise has shown its adaptability to the latest technology, and it shows in this game. It manages to create its own detailed world based on the features Siberia is famous for. Its set designs enforce the idea that only the toughest survive and really create a tense, engaging atmosphere. From abandoned facilities to wide wastelands, everywhere is a good place to fight in this game.
Unfortunately, its top-tier content is limited by its short playthrough, especially when compared to other games in the franchise. The game only has five levels for you to play, despite each of them being well-designed and having good features for each. Still, with its progress in the overall story plus some of the best boss fights in a long time, this quick play only makes you want more.
Taking the franchise on a new level
Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem is a worthy standalone that fans and new players of the franchise will appreciate. Its first-person shooting goodness, over-the-top explosions, and well-designed environments all contribute to an enjoyable action experience. However, these impressive scenes come rather quickly, as the game feels short compared to its predecessors. If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to fight extraterrestrial creatures, this should be next on your list.
