Self-Destructing Cookies: Protect Your Privacy While Browsing
Self-Destructing Cookies is a free Chrome extension developed by joue.quroi that aims to enhance privacy by automatically deleting cookies when the browser or tab is closed. With this extension, you can prevent tracking and protect your personal information.
This extension offers two modes to handle cookies. In “session” mode, all cookies are deleted once the current browsing session ends, which means when all browser windows are closed. In “tabs” mode, only cookies related to the current tab are deleted when the tab is closed and there are no other tabs from the same domain.
For example, if you are logged into your email account, in “session” mode, you will remain logged in until you close all browser tabs. In “tabs” mode, you will be automatically logged out once all email tabs are closed. If you have multiple email tabs open and still have one tab remaining, you will still be logged in. However, once the last email tab is closed, you will be logged out for enhanced security.
Please note that this extension currently does not support cleaning “window.localStorage,” but the developer plans to address this in future updates.
