Free mobile puzzle game
Save the Girl is a free-to-play puzzle game from Lion Studios. It is a brain game comprised of various brain teasers that you need to solve for you to save the girl from the villains chasing her. Each level in the game will present scenarios where the girl is in danger. Solving the puzzle correctly will save the girl. Getting it wrong, however, will not end well for the lovely heroine.
More like an ad-fest
Save the Girl offers simple gameplay. The game comes with a lot of levels to play, with each level having a unique puzzle that needs solving. Every level will have choices, one of them being the correct answer. As mentioned, wrong answers will result in painful but funny outcome for the girl. However, rather than asking you to pay to get a full game with no ads, the developers have massively missed the point and jammed the game full of ads.
There is an ad inserted every after level. To make it worse, the levels last anywhere between five and 30 seconds, depending on the mistakes you make. Speaking of committing mistakes, the levels will only have two selections, so you will only have 50/50 chances of getting the wrong answer. If you happen to select the wrong answer, your punishment is to watch an ad and restart the level.
All these annoying ad inserts make it hard to praise Save the Girl, a pity since it looks lovely and simple. It also has a decent amount of levels, so you can play for hours on end. The coin rewards given with each completed level is pointless since there is no in-game shop or boosts that you can use it for. However, being rewarded at the end of each level is a nice bonus for players.
Not really that challenging
Had the developers gone easy on the ads—or had they provide an option for ad-free version—Save the Girl would have been well worth checking out. The game’s premise is simple; it could be mindlessly fun in the best sense. However, the absurd abundance of ads and lack of challenge, make it one of those casual games that are easy enough to miss.
