Post-apocalyptic turn-based dungeon crawler

Sandwalkers is a premium role-playing game created by Goblinz Studio for PC. It’s a turn-based dungeon crawler set in a post-apocalyptic world. In it, players will traverse harsh lands and face countless dangers as they search for knowledge to help restore their homeland.

Just like with Darkest Dungeon or Wildermyth, Sandwalkers will have players engage in party-based battles wherein strategy and quick-thinking are essential in order to win battles. The game also features multiple biomes with unique conditions that influence their characters’ movements and will have an effect on their survival.

How is it played?

Sandwalkers takes place in a post-apocalyptic world wherein the Uwando tribes reside. Their land is tainted by the meteorological chaos called Phithi, which isolates them from one another and makes surviving outside their shelters almost impossible. The story focuses on the Mka tribe that has sent out caravans of adventurers to establish contact and trade routes with other groups. You will be taking charge of this effort.

Your main goal in the game is to exchange and gather collective knowledge that could help resurrect the Mother Tree Umama that will serve as a new home for your tribe and its allies. In the game, the environment is as much a danger to you as your enemies are. You will need to account for the harsh effects it has on your characters while trying to survive various battles.

The game is also quite dynamic and unpredictable since your actions and decisions, as well as the characters themselves all, play a role in dictating how the story and encounters play out. It’s not available yet, though, so you’ll have to wait until news and announcements are made about its official release. You can check with its official Steam page to stay updated.

Build a new home for our tribe

Overall, Sandwalkers is looking to be an interesting RPG game that might be worth checking out. Its narrative is intriguing, the turn-based mechanic makes for more strategic combat, and it will be curious to see how its environment will have an effect on how you play it. If you’re a fan of this genre, you now have another entry to keep a watch on.
