Race for victory in this motorcycle game
Road Scars: Origins is a fast-paced racing game where you will play the role of Adam, a motorcyclist who’s aiming to join the infamous motorcycle club, the Road Slicers. This game is the first installment in a series of three titles, so you can expect most of the foundation for the series’ general plot to be laid out here.
Road Scars: Origins is also loosely based on games like Road Rash and Road Fighter, both of which require you to also take down enemies while speeding down obstacle-ridden and traffic-infested roads.
Go up against other players
Fans of classic motorcycle racing games can greatly enjoy the thrilling adventures that Road Scars: Origins has to offer. The game presents three distinct game modes: Story, Arcade, and Challenge. As the name suggests, Story mode allows players to immerse themselves in the hour-long plot featured in this installment. Arcade mode is more of a high-score battle where you continuously try to improve your leaderboard standing.
Meanwhile, Challenge mode is where players can take on up to 50 different challenges and unlock a number of unique achievements that they can show off to friends and other players around the world. All of these modes feature a randomly generated route that allows you to experience each run in a different way while also giving you more of a challenge the further you progress.
However, compared to games like Forza Horizon 5 and Road Redemption, Road Scars’ graphics are pretty outdated — even for a retro-inspired game. This detracts from the overall gameplay experience, especially with some elements of the game becoming difficult to see during nighttime challenges. While the game does have a variety of game modes, the movements needed to maneuver your vehicle can feel overly repetitive over time, as well.
Repetitive nature but challenging gameplay
Although Road Scars: Origins can use some improvements when it comes to its graphics and monotonous gameplay, the prospect of a challenging round can still easily reel players in thanks to the procedurally generated roadways that you will be speeding through. The numerous collectible achievements and the opportunity to compete against other players in a worldwide leaderboard also add to this racing game’s unique charm.
