A free program by thewanderingknight
Rise of the Undead Mod is a free-to-use medieval dark mod created by thewanderingknight. This custom add-on brings the horde of the undead to the role-playing game by TaleWorlds Entertainment, Mount & Blade: Warband. By introducing fantasy elements, this mod lets you play on either side of a new war for survival.
With a host of new gameplay mechanics and custom models, Rise of the Undead Mod is a challenging addition to your Warband experience. You can also check out Europe 1200, Snow in the East, or the World of Vasnar Mod, for other total conversion mods.
Lead the Undead vs Human war
Rise of the Undead Mod introduces a massive war between humans and the undead horde in Warband, and you initially play with the dark side. You can take your seat among the Dark Lords and rally skeletons, wraiths, and ghouls against mankind. On the other hand, you can start as Nehebkau, the necromancer who will raze the defenses mounted by the human kingdoms.
As a total conversion mod, expect massive changes to the game. For starters, a host of new and custom models are included, mainly for the undead horde. It also changes existing game mechanics, such as weapon and armor tiers and costs for recruitment and training. It all takes in a massive custom map, with the conquest of mankind occurring in the world of Amalthea.
Its full version can get heavy on your system, starting with a storage requirement of about 563 MB. Additionally, it would be nice if the game would allow you to play as the hero once more, fighting against the new enemy. The game can also get overwhelming for new Warband players because it’s essentially a one-against-five scenario, with your Ordo Serpens fighting against four kingdoms and an entire empire.
A challenging uphill battle experience
The Rise of the Undead Mod is a fun and challenging experience that lets you try conquering the world of men, with hordes of undead creatures at your beck and call. It has a new world, entirely new character and item assets, and reworked game mechanics. It can take up quite a storage size and overwhelm new players but it’s an enjoyable experience once you get the hang of it.
