A ludicrously thrilling version of a classic FPS game
Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition is a remastered version of the cult classic action game, Rise of the Triad. This old-school FPS game stays true to the original title’s gameplay, however, with some modern enhancements that match the needs and capabilities of more advanced devices.
Fans of the original game can look forward to better-quality graphics and smoother controls in Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition. However, much like the original game, players should keep in mind that this retro shooter features mature themes and elements, especially in the form of violence and gore.
What can you expect?
In Rise of the Triad, players will have to explore a remote island and save the world from the hands of an evil mastermind. You have the option to choose from five different characters with varying skills and characteristics that cater to different situations and enemy types. With Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition, though, you’ll also be able to unlock characters and other game content from lost beta versions.
This remastered version includes all episodes and the expansion packs so you can enjoy the entirety of the original game. You’ll also be able to look forward to an all-new episode that’s exclusive to this version. It offers support for 4K and Ultrawide resolution, as well as support for unlimited frame rates, so you can experience all of the familiar scenes and maps in a much more immersive manner.
Best of all, the Ludicrous Edition has a Level Editor that allows you to customize the game experience to suit your preferences. There’s also the option to play online and LAN comm-bat multiplayer with friends. However, players that are already familiar with the original version’s plot and have played the other remakes and expansion packs will find that the single additional episode can be quite underwhelming.
Same thrills, new experience
Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition offers players an exciting new way to experience Rise of the Triad. While the game’s addition of one new episode isn’t a lot in terms of plot development, the Level Editor and multiplayer modes offer something new to the table that helps you break away from the familiar gameplay. Not to mention, the stunning new graphics create an even more engaging experience.
