In Retro Commander, you can play as one of the four factions, each with its own unique strengths and weaknesses. These include the Army, the Ghost, the Mad, and the Scavengers. The game also has a single-player campaign, which includes both story missions and multiplayer matches.

Story campaign:

The story campaign takes place in the year 2049.  The Earth has suffered a cataclysmic event, which has caused a massive war between the four factions, and the beginning of a new era.

Multiplayer matches:

The multiplayer matches are played in real-time, and you can choose to play with your friends.  The matches include a ranking and rating system.
