Bring more realism into Skyrim with Realistic Needs and Diseases
Realistic Needs and Diseases is a free and fan-made expansion mod for Skyrim that enhances the game’s realism by providing a more complex health mechanic. With this mod installed, you will need to pay closer attention to the health and wellbeing of your Skyrim character to ensure survival.
The Skyrim mod includes new health mechanics for hunger, thirst, tiredness, diseases, and even drunkenness. It adds an all-new layer of gameplay to the Skyrim game, unlike other expansion mods that are purely cosmetic, such as the Enhanced Lights and FX Mod and the Flora Overhaul Mod.
Progressive diseases
In the original Skyrim game, diseases are only a minor hazard. That’s no longer the case with the Realistic Needs and Diseases mod. If your character falls ill, they will suffer from mild symptoms that continue to worsen. You must find a cure or rest in a clean and safe place to heal and survive.
Hunger, thirst, and drunkenness
If your character goes too long without food or drink, they will suffer from declined health. Drinking alcohol will quench your thirst and makes your character drunk, which only causes more problems for your character. In addition, the mod adds a “food spoilage” feature: if you allow food to go rotten, eating it will cause illness.
Multilayered additions
A lot of thought has gone into this Realistic Needs and Diseases Mod. For example, the mechanics of hunger has six stages: “starving” is the lowest and weakens you; “gluttony” is the highest and reduces speed; “satiated” is the second-highest and most ideal stage. Meanwhile, it introduces new food mechanics for vampires, werewolves, and cannibals.
A new level of immersion
While many other mods are aesthetic expansion packs, Realistic Needs and Diseases subtly affect the gameplay but in an immersive way. Once you install it, you’ll have the opportunity to face new challenges and enhance your Skyrim gaming experience.
