AIM: Realistic Animation Project – Idles Part 2
Realistic Animation Project – Idles is a new game mod that aims to bring the realism and the life-like quality to the player’s gaming. It is a mod that can be used with the new version of SSE (Sims Studio) and is made by FeuerTin. It is one of the first mods that use the new Skyrims engine, which is really impressive to see and to hear. We are now introduced to the world of this Realistic Animation Project – Idles. And we get to see the different animation styles created by FeuerTin, in this particular mod, around the famous town of Skyrim, in one of the most impressive towns in all of skyrim.
Animation is a type of game where the player, as the protagonist, has to move about the environment, react to events and make choices and decisions on the basis of different situations. If you were to see and analyze it, you would surely see that most of these decisions, if not made carefully, can have huge effects on the path the game may take, and how the game may progress. There are many events that can affect the flow of the game and it’s up to the player, the adventurer, to take an active role and make good decisions at critical moments. But what about the idle moments? How will they affect the game?
In this Realistic Animation Project – Idles, players take the part of an artist, who is animating a specific object or area around them, and all this while moving around the camera, adjusting the speed of the moving objects and reactivating when necessary. And since everything happens around you and your character, it is a bit more realistic than other types of animation. You can see and listen to the characters around you, react to the things happening around you and move, step back and forth in slow motion, zoom in and out, turn around and look around etc. All of this happens with an invisible avatar controlling the camera, so you feel as if you are part of the action, and are not merely watching an animated film. The game certainly seems to be taking advantage of its Active Time Management (ATM) concept, which enables the players to not only plan their actions, but also to act accordingly.
