2D beat ’em’ up using “real” rag-doll physics
Ragdoll Masters might sound like an unlikely name for a combat game but if you look at the alternatives it sounds a whole lot better than ‘Puppet Fighters’ or ‘Dolly Wars’.
The idea is so simple it’s genius – two relatively hefty stick men, neither with any control over their limbs (as tends to be the case with stick men) must repeatedly bump in to each other while confined in an anti-gravity chamber from which there is no escape.
Throw in a healthy portion of ‘realistic’ physics and things start to get really interesting.
Your control over the fighter is limited to up, down, left, and right.
To kick or punch, you have to hurtle your ragdoll spinning through the air and hopefully land a perfectly placed big toe to the head of your opponent.
As the fight progresses, you build points for combos and head blows, and you will notice the wrists of the fighters grow red. This redness becomes increasingly brighter until the losing ragdoll explodes in a shower of small balls.
The unique controls and game play of Ragdoll Masters make it extremely addictive although it is most likely the kind of game that you will return to time and time again when you have a few minutes to burn.
