Watch quick-bite episodes in any in-between moments
Quibi: Watch New Episodes Daily—or simply known as Quibi—is a free multimedia application that allows you to watch original content video episodes in 10-minutes or under using your mobile phones. Developed by Quibi Holdings, LLC, this entertainment app features shows starred by the world’s famous stars like Liam Hemsworth in Most Dangerous Game, Sophie Turner in Survive, Chance the Rapper in Punk’d, Willam Belli in Fashion’s a Drag and many more. The contents of this video streaming service come in three forms: Movies in Chapters, short unscripted series, and documentaries—as well as Daily Essentials including news and lifestyle programs.
Stream even on the go
Quibi gives you the capability to download your favorite shows offline, ranging from drama, comedy, docs, news, or sports—which means you can watch bite-size pieces of it even on the go. Its most headline feature is called Turnstyle, wherein the screen automatically flips between vertical and horizontal presentation modes whenever you rotate your phone in certain forms. Its other creative styles such as text or credits are also naturally optimized for these back-and-forth changes.
This feature works well even with a weak cellular connection or slow Wi-Fi. Furthermore, it also provides a dual-streaming feature wherein every time you watch a show, it offers you to watch 2 video streams simultaneously. The video stream you’re not watching is shown at a lower resolution—although this feature eats up a big portion from your data than your usual YouTube or Netflix video stream.
Basic but intuitive user interface
Compared to other giant streaming services such as Netflix, Quibi’s user interface can be seen as basic but still sleek and intuitive. When you launch the app, you’ll immediately see the “For You” section wherein you can view the show’s title, cast, crew, and other related details about the show. Staying on one part that contains the video for a few seconds will result in autoplay and once you tap on any video, it will immediately start playing. If you want to see a pop-up menu that allows you to discover more info or episodes as well as enable you to follow the show, download, or share its contents, you can either press and hold on a video or tap the three-dot icon.
The next tab section you’ll encounter is “Browse” where you can search through Quibi’s content catalog by show title, genre, or cast. Right next to it is the “Following” tab where all your favorite shows are compiled, which allows you to easily track the latest episodes. Moreover, you can also enable notifications for you to be alerted with the latest updates regarding the shows you’re following.
Designed for mobile use only
Quibi is a great mobile video streaming alternative, especially if you want to be entertained during your in-between moments. It’s an ideal app every time you’re on the go, as you can easily download all the episodes you wish to watch and stream it offline while you’re on your way to work. However, it is not the most recommended app to install if you aspire to have an immense TV experience as this multimedia application doesn’t support it.
