A charming puzzle game with silhouettes

Projected Dreams is a free puzzle game for PC from an indie developer who goes by the name aoyuna. It utilizes the concept of light and shadow to create unique puzzles for players to solve. It boasts a charming art style that combines low poly graphics with cartoon-like cel-shading techniques.

Just like Limbo or Inside, Projected Dreams employs clever lighting techniques to present its characters and tell its heartfelt story. What makes it stand out more is its use of vibrant colors and drawings to convey a more relaxed and dream-like feel that has a charming appeal to it.

Of light and shadows

There is a certain dream-like quality to Projected Dreams that piques your interest the moment you start. It takes place inside a room filled with toys, and the mysterious silhouette of a girl who appears inside a beam of light reflecting off the wall. You’re tasked to fulfill her wishes by arranging objects in front of you to match the shape of the shadows shown.

The controls in this game are simple and revolve around dragging and rotating objects and laying them down on the table to achieve the shape you’re going for. Recreate scenes as close as possible to complete the level and proceed to the next one. It’s quite chill, and you can take your time to complete each challenge since there’s no time limit imposed on you.

A nice thing about it is that if you finish everything, you can then go on to create your own custom shadow puzzles of sorts, which extends its gameplay and replayability further. One thing to note is that the game is still currently just a prototype or a proof of concept if you will. As such, you can expect plenty more content in future updates as development progresses.

It’s far from being finished at this point but its already quite polished in its current state. This one’s definitely worth a play.
