Hunger Games-inspired content for Minecraft
Project HG Pure Nature – Minecraft is a free game utility that recreates a full map inspired by the popular young adult novel series Hunger Games. Experience the intense survival matches held in the titular public event as one of the Tributes—in all of its voxel glory. It recreates the treacherous, glass-covered area extensively featured in the books and films.
However, Project HG Pure Nature – Minecraft is only an interactive map and doesn’t really feature other content as you would expect from a full mod. For full content with quests and characters, check out Minecraft: Story Mode.
Volunteer to be a Tribute
What makes Project HG Pure Nature – Minecraft a compelling addition to your Minecraft resources is that it captures the massive scale of the Hunger Games arena. For those unfamiliar, the arena is a huge location enclosed in a glass dome. The entire map is divided into twelve slices, corresponding to the hours of a clock. Each of these slices features a different environment — and this is what the map captures well.
Also, as Minecraft content, expect it to be a true voxel recreation of the map, which makes it even more awesome. Aside from the common elements like overgrown trees and flowing lava, there are smart uses of existing elements to create certain effects that add to the accuracy of events and details from the HG franchise. Playing this mod could even teach you new building tricks.
However, as mentioned earlier, it’s only a map. It doesn’t feature custom textures or character designs for you to play as you try and survive in the arena. It’s quite unfortunate for this project to miss out on a full-on Hunger Games experience in Minecraft. However, despite its details and scale, the map only requires a small 7 MB storage space.
A must-have map
Considering all the work put into it — the sheer scale of the map, its efforts to recreate all twelve zones, the smart use of existing blocks to create custom effects — make Project HG Pure Nature – Minecraft a must-have map for your next Minecraft game. Whether you’ll fill in the missing story and custom characters for your complete role-playing experience or remodel it to your own liking, it’s up to you.
