Face Huggy Wuggy in an abandoned home
Poppy Horror: Scary Playtime is a free-to-play adventure game from Zego Global Publishing. This puts a spin on the usual confrontation against Huggy Wuggy in a toy factory. In this survival horror challenge, you have to evade the long-limbed monster in an abandoned home.
Although it provides a refreshing gameplay experience in the Huggy Wuggy-saturated app market, Poppy Horror: Scary Playtime remains visually similar to other Zego games like Poppy Game – It’s Playtime or Poppy Rope Game. The vibe, however, feels like a bit of Granny thrown in for good measure.
More than another Poppy Playtime ripoff
Like most games that feature Huggy Wuggy, Poppy Horror: Scary Playtime also lifts other elements from the game that features the blue, furry monster, Poppy Playtime. As you play in a first-person view, you can see the iconic pair of robotic arms–one red and one blue–that you can use to interact with the surroundings. This will come in handy as you reach out for items and solve various puzzles.
In terms of horror, the visual quality of the game comes front and center. The house where the game is set is entirely bleak in terms of color, giving the dated, abandoned look. This starkly contrasts with your brightly colored robotic arms and the equally colorful villain that chases you. It looks like a bad mod for a horror game, but it actually adds to the surprise element.
What makes the game additionally enjoyable is its playthrough, extended by its difficulty. It’s hard to predict the behavior pattern of the AI and his movement speed steadily increases. The only problem with this game is the excessive frequency of ads. It’s at a level that it actually interferes with your momentum and enjoyment of the game. However, it could be averted by turning your data or internet connection off.
Better than most Huggy Wuggy games
Whether or not you’re a fan of Huggy Wuggy and the Poppy Playtime, it’s safe to say that Poppy Horror: Scary Playtime deserves your time. It’s a challenging, heart-racing horror survival experience that comes from surprising elements. Its use of contrast between the environment, the player, and the enemy creates a shock element. Be wary of the ads though, as their frequency can really take away some of the fun.
