A free social collaboration app
Pintok is a free social and communication mobile app that allows you to stay connected with friends and colleagues while collaborating on any project or work. Developed by ARKITEK, this productivity app features common chat and messaging functions, file storage, a social media feed system, and even data privacy measures.
Pintok highly values your right to privacy and doesn’t store any information. This includes your files and posts having their own cloud storage rather than using the app’s servers. However, this also means that the service doesn’t keep any of this and you there’s no option to save them.
Within reach
At its core, Pintok is more of a project management tool that simplifies contacting collaborations. By adding and logging into an account, you can send messages to your contacts and post images or text onto your in-app feed. Take note that you can’t add contacts to the app itself. Instead, it will retrieve your contacts from the social media account you added—such as you Google or Facebook accounts.
This is because the app doesn’t retain chat messages. These have end-to-end encryption and will automatically be erased within 10 minutes, not giving you the option to back them up. Meanwhile, media files are uploaded to your own cloud storage, which the app gives you a code key to. It’s best to save this somewhere as you can’t retrieve it again after agreeing to the app’s terms and conditions.
Aside from these, you can also join Groups by either searching for them under selected categories of interest or creating your very own. Similar to social media communities, Groups allow you to interact with other users and view and comment on posts and articles within your feed. Be careful with the material you post, though, as this app has strict content regulations.
Could use more features
All in all, Pintok is a good alternative app if you’re looking for a productivity tool that allows for social interaction while collaborating on projects. While the storage options for chat messages are limited and you can’t really add contacts onto the app, it doesn’t infringe on your data privacy and allows you complete control with the provided code key.
