Free tool for transferring phone content
Phone Clone is a free-to-use utility for mobile phones, designed by Huawei Internet Services. Designed for migrating one Huawei handset to another, this file transfer tool helps move contacts, SMS, notes, recordings, call logs, and all media files with greater transfer speeds and file integrity. It supports other devices, but works best when migrating into a Huawei device.
With a simplified app design and a good range of accessibility features, Phone Clone is a very helpful tool for users looking to transition into a Huawei device. It’s basically the device manufacturer’s equivalent for the Samsung Smart Switch Mobile app.
Make Huawei migrations easier
Switching into a new smartphone can be a challenging task, and Phone Clone incentivizes users switching into a Huawei handphone. It supports both Android and iOS devices for the source phone, transferring all their content to a new phone from the Chinese electronics and telecommunications giant. As mentioned, it covers everything from call records, contacts, and messages, to different media files.
For the app itself, it’s easy to use. As soon as you open it, you get to determine if the device is the Sender or the Receiver, you can also choose how to connect to the other device. The app offers a quick option by scanning a QR Code, or do it manually by finding and connecting to a WLAN for the file transfer.
By leveraging Wi-Fi, it lets you transfer files much faster than you would with other technologies, like Bluetooth. However, it has some issues with delivering its service. Users complain about getting stuck in the Connecting phase for several minutes on end. Even worse, some transfers do initiate, only to get inexplicably disconnected in the middle, with the issues seriously derailing the user experience.
Convenient but intermittently failing
Overall, Phone Clone has everything nailed on the app side, but not on the transferring side. The app is convenient, with a streamlined layout, and it supports a wide range of devices. It even supports various ways of getting the two devices to connect. However, its tendencies toward unsuccessfully setting up connections or failing file transfers halfway make this app less than desirable against other file transferring services.
