Search engine for Huawei devices
Petal Search, formerly known as Huawei Search, is the official search engine of Huawei device owners developed by Huawei Software Technologies Co., Ltd. In its first release, this app can only help you find apps that aren’t available yet on the App Gallery. However, Huawei innovated it to be an independent and functional search engine tool. Similar to Google Search, it is capable of providing you results for regular queries alongside news information, images, and videos.
How do you use a Petal Search?
As mentioned, aside from being a typical search and lookup tool, it also allows you to explore apps in two alternative ways. You can use suggestions and or do a manual search. By using suggestions, you only need to tap the search bar, and you can immediately jump into search mode. Below that search bar, you’ll see the Top Local Apps section, which contains applications that are available through AppGallery and popular within your country. If you wish to install the suggested app, you only need to tap the Install button. Doing so will redirect you to the AppGallery, where you can download the app.
If it so happens that the app that you are looking for isn’t available in the AppGallery yet, you can opt to use the Search Bar and manually find it instead. The manual search uses the web to seek and install apps from official websites and third-party sources such as Apkpure, Aptoide, and many more. Make sure that you are on the ‘Apps’ section when searching, so you’ll only need to tap ‘Install’ to start its download process. There will be many instances that you will be redirected to the related website to straightly download the file.
It is also possible for you to add the Petal Search widget directly on your home screen for easier and immediate access. To do this, go to your Home Screen and either press and hold or pinch together two fingers to show more display settings. Once done, you will now tap ‘Widget’ and select ‘Petal Search‘ from various widget options. For the final procedure, you have to touch on the widget to add it to the home screen.
The future is bright
This banning incident taught Huawei to stand up on their own, and, by far, they are succeeding as they are committed to providing the best service for their users. Petal Search is a remarkable proof of it. Soon enough, once it implements more development, it can officially declare its independence from Google in the search world.
