An e-wallet and third-party payment app
PayMaya is very similar to PayPal in that it acts as an online wallet that also allows you to send money to family, friends, and gaming platforms. Unlike PayPal, this e-wallet isn’t accepted in stores, but you can pay for a MasterCard, which will be accepted in most online and offline stores.
It is similar to a prepaid debit card service, except that you do not have to maintain a balance; you do not have to pay maintenance fees if you opt for the basic service. Plus, you do not have to have the MasterCard if you don’t want it. Used primarily for gaming and sending payments, it can also be used for budgeting, just like the Accounting Ledger app.
How do PayMaya works?
It works a little like PayPal and a little like a bitcoin wallet. It allows you to add and remove money from your balance, send money to other app users, and make bank transfers. If you pay for the service, you can also pay bills, use the scan-to-pay functions, apply for a MasterCard, and use the “Pro” features.
How do I put money on PayMaya?
You have to use a debit card, or you have to be paid by another PayMaya user. You can use a credit card if you have an approved account and your credit card issuer allows it. However, most people will experience problems uploading with a credit card.
Awful customer service
Besides being overly unresponsive, the customer services for this online wallet app ask for things like handwritten applications for things like changing a phone number. Closing an account is very difficult, and changing funding types takes a very long time.
Has almost no quality of life tools
This payment app is crying out for quality-of-life features like recurring payments, easier payment tools, easier sorting tools, multi-filter sorting, quicker applications, and quicker logging in. Competitors like Google, PayPal, and Skrill are offering a smoother service.
